The sixteenth-century Christmas carol Lo' How A Rose E'er Blooming is one of my most favorite melodies, and I've arranged here for violin and viola. I wanted to give it a modal counterpoint treatment but realized the melody might not be well-suited for that—either that, or I've heard it so many times harmonized in a more modern style that I can't hear it any other way! In this arrangement I used Baroque-era counterpoint technique. Enjoy!
